The Collision Abstract

The collision of conscience … the difference between peoples …. the conflicting interpretations of the same situation… all of these things were being pondered while creating this heavily textured piece. I will say that this painting isn’t ‘pretty’ but it is so very interesting with its layers and depths of color. It is messy and beautiful – a lot like life. Layers of vintage papers and fibers mixed with fluid acrylics and inks accented with copper foil and metals create this inspired mixed media painting.

The color palette is muted coppers and teals and sepias and creams, and is very hard to capture with the camera. I have taken photos in different lights…the first photo is the closest color representation of the piece. If you are interested in the painting, I will be happy to send you more photos. This piece measures 16×40 with a 1.5 inch cradle that is painted dark brown. It is wired in the back and suitable for hanging unframed.
