While pondering on Love, Life, the Universe and everything, this interesting painting emerged from the studio. This mixed media piece is full of texture. It is messy (a lot like Love and Life) with one color bleeding into another which is a compelling contrast against the more detailed street painter who is trying his best to repaint his town with a fresh, new coat of paint.
His determination makes me smile.
‘Painting the Town Red’ was created with papers and acrylics on a 36×36 canvas with 1.5in sides that have been painted black. It is wired in the back and suitable for hanging unframed. The entire piece has been coated with a clear, matte finish but it does have a tiny bit of shine.
